Tomorrow morning, SWAN will testify at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on possible solutions to the military sexual assault crisis.

SWAN’s message?

The military justice system is not working.

Service members have lost faith in the system.

To restore faith, military justice should be executed by trained legal professionals—not commanding officers.

For the past several years, SWAN has pushed hard for military justice reform—taking this issue to Capitol Hill, the federal courts, Pentagon and White House. Combined with the help of dedicated survivors, this issue is now at the forefront of our nation’s attention.

The military is rolling out their big guns to defend the current system.

In 2010, greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture accounted for approximately 7% of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture have increased by approximately 13% since 1990. The biggest driver for this increase has been the 51% growth in combined CH4 and N2O emissions from livestock manure management systems, according to the EPA.

In 2010, greenhouse gas emissions from transportation accounted for about 27% of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, making it the second largest contributor of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, second to the Electricity Sector.
